Staff in the Department are involved in a diverse range of economics research projects. These projects have been categorised in to four main research areas.
Labour and education economics
The range of topics covered in the research area is very large, encompassing extensive knowledge of large-scale data sets, from both the UK and abroad, and up-to-date econometric techniques.
Health economics and the economics of wellbeing
This research area includes collaboration with staff in the Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) section of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR).
The economics of the firm and industrial economics
As well as a wide range of internal staff interests across this subject, the research area also has strong linkages with our labour and education, and health clusters.
Macroeconomics, finance and development
This area encompasses many researchers also involved in the other three research areas, and are complemented by an active group of research students and associated researchers.
