Katherine Runswick Cole, from the School of Education, and Sue Baxter and Alan Brennan, from the School of Health and Related Research at the University of Sheffield, and project partners at The University of Strathclyde, Speakup Self Advocacy, Breakthrough UK and Social Finance were successful in receiving an award from The National Institute for Health and Social Care Research (NIHR) for a new research project looking into the support available for people with learning disabilities and/or autism, mental health issues, sensory impairments, d/Deaf people and those with physical impairments to find employment.
This project is being coproduced by disabled and non-disabled researchers and will investigate the effectiveness of Individual Placement Support and Supported Employment Schemes to help disabled people to find work, seeking input from people who use the services as well as those providing the service.
