Can you convey your research through an image? We are looking for your photographs that tell the story of the research we do at the University of Sheffield and the people who make it happen.On 28th September 2012 the University will be open to the public for Researchers’ Night - an evening of talks, demonstrations and activities designed to showcase our research to the public. A gallery of your images will be displayed on the evening and visiting members of the public will vote for the overall winner. Researchers' Night is part of Festival of the Mind, a week long festival to celebrate the cultural strengths of the University and City. Who can enter?The competition is open to all University of Sheffield staff and students. Categories1. Research in progress: Images that convey how research is carried out and provide an insight into the methods, techniques and facilities used. 2. People: Show the people and personalities behind the research with images of researchers and the research community. 3. Esoterica. A category to encourage the unusual and experimental. If you’ve taken an image using a pinhole camera or mobile phone, used interesting developing or post processing techniques, scanned your vintage slides for historical interest or turned your image into an artwork then send them our way, all weird and wonderful entries welcome!
