The University of Sheffield
Department of Germanic Studies

SOMLAL and Germanic Studies Undergraduate Open Days

Schnee

Please come and meet us! All applicants receiving offers are invited and encouraged to attend an Open Day in the Department. These take place in February and March.

If you are thinking of studying languages at Sheffield before you have filled out your UCAS application, you are warmly welcome on one of our Summer Open Days.

Our Open Days aim to give you an idea of what it would be like to be a student at Sheffield, within Germanic Studies but also as part of the School of Modern Languages. You will get a formal presentation, a campus tour with our students and an informal meeting with students and staff in Germanic Studies. You get the opportunity to ask all your questions and to get a real feel for the place. We also organise a visit to our student accommodation for you. Our current students always say how useful an Open Day visit was for them.

Booking your place

If you have received an offer from SOMLAL and would like to come to an open day, please follow the link on the right hand side of the page to book your place. You will need your Personal ID code provided by the University.

For a full schedule of the dates and all sorts of information check SOMLAL Open Days.

N.B. If you are unable to attend the Open Day specific to your course, we will try to arrange for you to come to one of the others. For further information, please feel free to contact us by email us at somlal-enquiries@sheffield.ac.uk or telephone on 0114 222 4396.
