Luxembourg Semester or Year Abroad

Students on the Honours degrees with Luxembourg Studies (French with Luxembourg Studies, German with Luxembourg Studies) are required to spend a semester in Luxembourg. If places are available, students on other French and German degree programmes can opt to spend a semester in Luxembourg. Students on Honours degrees in French are permitted to spend the entire Year Abroad in Luxembourg, if they obtain permission from the Luxembourg Year Abroad Tutor.

If you choose university study, this will be on an EU-supported ERASMUS exchange, i.e. accommodation is generally provided and students are entitled to a one-off payment in Euros during their stay abroad. The University of Sheffield has an ERASMUS agreement with the Université du Luxembourg.

Alternatively, it may be possible for you to secure a work placement. The University of Sheffield has links to KPMG Luxembourg and to the Ministère de la Culture, de l´Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche of Luxembourg.
