The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing is a multi-million pound partnership conducting research to improve Boeing's products and research new forms of flight technologies.
This builds on the shared scientific excellence, expertise and technological innovation of the world's leading aerospace company and the world-class research within the University of Sheffield's Faculty of Engineering.
Rolls-Royce plc works together with a number of universities worldwide to support and develop research in academic centres of excellence.
Rolls-Royce has established four University Technology Centres (UTCs) at Sheffield, more than any other UK university. UTCs are research centres within the Faculty of Engineering. Rolls-Royce invest in these four University of Sheffield Technology Centres, where research is conducted by both University and Rolls-Royce staff, to enhance products, improve productivity, and reduce cost-of-ownership.
Technology solutions created in these centres have been implemented world-wide.
