Jie Hong is a lecturer in International Business at the Sheffield University Management School. She earned her Ph.D. in Innovation Management and Policy from Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. Throughout her academic journey, Jie has been actively involved in teaching a diverse range of courses at both the MSc and UG levels, specializing in the fields of international business and innovation management.

Jie's research interests are in the area of International Business and Innovation Management. In particular, her research focuses on identifying the influences that the institutional environment, especially the rule of law and intellectual property rights (IPR), has on offshoring innovation activities, using survey data and patent data.

My primary research interests encompass several key areas within the domains of international business and innovation management. A central focus of my research is the investigation of innovation offshoring, with a specific emphasis on analyzing the profound impacts of intellectual property rights (IPR) on multinational corporations' (MNCs) innovation decisions. In addition, I have a keen interest in employing patent data to scrutinize firms' innovation strategies and performance. Furthermore, I am deeply intrigued by the consequences of adopting digital technologies on firms' innovation decisions and overall innovation performance.
