Company projects

On all of our masters courses, you will have the option to choose between a traditional dissertation and a company-based dissertation project.

In a company project, instead of a formal entirely research-focused dissertation, you would work with a business on a real-life project or problem they are facing. This issue would form the basis of your dissertation. Alongside the written dissertation, you would be expected to provide a report to the business you are working with on how they can best solve the problem they have provided you with.

Company projects allow you to gain access into an organisation and you would be provided with support throughout the project from both the business and the Management School. Choosing to do a company project can provide you with excellent networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to boost your CV as you will gain valuable insights into the world of work.

Our Business Partnerships team source all of the projects, which go through an approval process to ensure they are of a suitable standard for a masters study, and will bring to life the theory you study throughout your course.

We cannot guarantee that all students will be able to complete a company project and there is a competitive application process, but the Management School’s Employability Team will provide you with lots of support to help you succeed in the recruitment process.
