International Conference for Physics Students
Congratulations to Matt Mears, Will Davies, and Doug Needham, three of our undergraduates who were part of a bid to bring the annual International Conference for Physics Students (ICPS) to London.
The British bid worked with Nexus, the student branch of the Institute of Physics, to propose that we host the 2007 conference in London. After fierce competition with the Greek and Polish delegations, the UK team came out triumphant, and will now be hosting the largest international physics student gathering the country has seen.
The bid was made to the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS), at its twentieth annual International Conference for Physics Students (ICPS) this year.
Over 400 delegates from all corners of the world met in Coimbra, Portugal, to build relations and give lectures in a friendly atmosphere, whilst having a fantastic time at the events and parties provided by the Portugese team.
