| The MPH (Management and Leadership) is ideally suited to clinical and non-clinical professionals who aspire to be leaders in their health care organisations and systems, either in the UK or in their own country. It will help clinicians understand the world of the manager and managers the world of the clinician. |
| A major strength of this programme is its combination of public health, management, health services research and health economics. This is a combination not available from an MBA or a pure MPH or MSc programme. Furthermore, you will study alongside other students in the School taking our MPH programmes. Currently we have more than 80 students on these courses, of whom two thirds come from overseas countries. |

Course outlineThe MPH (M&L) programme has been designed to provide progression from the fundamentals to more advanced topics. The course introduces students to important aspects of gathering and appraising evidence through research and needs assessment, as well as financing and economic concepts. In addition, students take more specific modules relating to leading and managing health systems, as well as policy and practice aspects in an international context. Students also have the choice from a range of options and also undertaken a dissertation which provides an opportunity for you to apply your learning to an area of personal interest. |
Aims and learning outcomesThe MPH (Management and Leadership) aims to provide students with in depth understanding of issues in the management and government of public health, and apply this to the specific challenges in delivery, planning and management of health services in their national context.
