Join in Jessica's celebrations

Jessica will be welcomed home by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor John Campbell, at Barker's Pool this Friday where she will receive the city's thanks and congratulations on an open air stage.

City leaders hope the crowds will wear or bring something gold so Jessica can look out on a sea of gold across the city.

The event starts at 4pm with a celebration using music, sport and film of Jessica's gold medal victory in the heptathlon before Jessica appears at 6.15pm. A private reception for Jessica, her family and invited guests, including a representative of the University, will follow.

Leopold Street and Pinstone Street will be closed from 4pm on Friday.
